What To Do If You Are Caught in a Dust Storm On Your Next Road Trip

One great part of living on the West Coast is wide open drives and miles of road to cover from the Southern Border up to Washington. Making a long distance drive through the Southwest means traversing many different landscapes, and the desert poses one unique challenge for drivers: dust storms.



So what do you do if you a driving along, and the next minute you are inundated in a wall of dust? Luckily, the answer is easy and it will help keep you safe until the wind and dust pass.

1) Begin to slow down after checking for traffic around you.

2) Merge off of the highway, making sure that you are no longer in a traveling lane.

3) Turn off all your vehicle lights and engage the parking brake.

4) Stay in the vehicle and keep your seat belt fastened in case of a collision.

5) Wait for the storm to pass and merge back onto the highway.

Unfortunate Loss At the Corvette Museum

News broke today from the Skydome at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY that a sinkhole erupted causing structural damage and the loss of some classic cars. The Corvette museum is home to the lineage of Corvette cars and dedicated to preserving the iconic model in its original glory. It is truly an unfortunate loss, and we are sad to hear that some of their collection has been lost.

2014 COPO Camaro Raises Money for the Achilles Freedom Team

The Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ brings out the best in custom and collectors cars, and this year's event was in full form. In case you missed it, the 2014 Chevrolet COPO Camaro, featured at the SEMA auto show, was auctioned off to raise money for the Achilles Freedom Team.

The Achilles Freedom Team is an extension of Achilles International, and is dedicated to providing wounded veterans with the special equipment and support to maintain a competitive edge. Team members compete in marathons and form a collective support network for wounded veterans that is a crucial part of the recovery process.

The 2014 COPO Camaro ended up selling at auction for $700,000, with the proceeds going to benefit the Achilles Freedom Team and all of their efforts. Check out the video below to see the action unfold and to hear from members of the Achilles Freedom team regarding what the event means to them.

Spring Road Trips: Start Planning Now
